The ANJ-3 — the initials standing for Army-Navy-Joint — jacket was originally designed in the name of fiscal responsibility and common sense. The two services decided to take the best features of the jackets worn by pilots of the Army and Navy through World War II and create one piece for all to wear. Somehow, the damn thing ended up turning out great, even if it was discontinued a few years later when the government shifted to cheaper nylon flight suits. We’ve taken this great design and tweaked it in the one way no penny-pinching bureaucrat ever would — substituting wonderfully rich deerskin for the cheaper goatskin of the original. The knit rib rack stays snug because it stretches around the waist instead of simply up and down. The underarm gussets allow for easy movement of the arms in any direction. The bi-swing back is retractable to enhance the fit without sacrificing mobility. The feeling of invincibility occurs the moment you put it on. Made in USA. Deerskin.
