We started with an extra heavy Italian cotton — so weighty, in fact, that it can be brushed twice. Vigorously, too, we might add. All that extra brushing gives the fabric of these pants a supple quality uncommon in trousers so sturdy. Another item with some common sense English tailoring — a split waistband with tab extensions and two inches of extra fabric to make alterations easier. And we topped it off with Riri zippers.
