It seems the fashion hordes, gathered poolside to burnish their tans and egos, recently decided that only the most slender men would be able to find trousers that actually fit. Small wonder we went further afield than St. Tropez for inspiration. Back in history, in fact, to the pants once worn by British military men. These trousers, crafted from the original rugged drill cloth, were worn not only when on parade but also in battle. Ours are beautifully crafted and equally versatile — wear them while thrashing about in the woods or deleting voice mails from sycophants. The plain front version has slightly wider field belt loops, while its pleated sibling sports a tab waistband with D-rings on the sides. Made in USA. Drill khaki. Orig. $198
