Who knew that when two silkworms join forces to spin one cocoon, a few fortunate men would end up with an incredible pair of trousers? If you’ve always considered silk best reserved for filmy negligée and striking neckties, these pants — cut from Dupioni Silk — will be an eye opener. Dupioni, you see, is produced only when the aforementioned pair of industrious silkworms share the same pod and spin a cocoon together, creating a double-thread fabric with more varied shadings than typical silk. It’s a more textured look and about as strong as silk gets. With such an extraordinary material, creating something classic seemed to be the appropriate course and we think you’ll appreciate the timeless cut, traditional pleated fronts, regular rise and back pockets with buttons.
